Turn Off Location On Facebook | Update 2019

Facebook is at it again, releasing yet another function that I never had the chance to pleasantly opt out of: location sharing.

Turn Off Location Facebook

When Facebook determined to withdraw initiatives from its brief check-in service, Places, it promptly implemented a more passive location-sharing attribute that does not even have a name. It's simply there. And it's scary.

Now, each time you make up a message on a mobile device or home computer, you'll see a light-gray location summary in the reduced left of the condition box.

Facebook sneakily grabs your location using GPS or Wi-Fi router, and also attaches it to your blog post, so your pals can take pleasure in a more in-depth tracking experience.

Do you remember opting in to that? Me neither.

In fact, if you dig via your privacy and also account setups, the option to switch off location-sharing isn't available. Nonetheless, it's pretty easy to transform it off. Below's how:

- Because the place is displayed in light gray, it's really easy to miss out on. Constantly examine the lower left of the standing box to see if an area is attached.

- If you're on the Web, just hover the arrow over the place as well as click the "X." Your place will certainly no longer be affixed, also to future conditions. If you later alter your mind, simply click the place marker to manually enter your place, but beware: it will be affixed once again for all future updates (unless you turn it off once more).
